Stuart, or 'Stu' as he's known to his friends, qualified as a Cost & Management Accountant before starting in stockbroking as an analyst with Charlton Seal Dimmock in Manchester in 1982. With a focus primarily on the Institutional side of the business, he has always worked in the North West, either in Manchester or Liverpool, and his c.v. includes such names as Tilney, Charterhouse Securities, Henry Cooke, Lumsden and WH Ireland. We were fortunate enough to secure his services in late 2012 and over the next ten years he established and ran our research service for private clients, staying well beyond his 'normal' retirement age, and he leaves behind a great legacy and a strong foundation on which to build.
Stuart speaks affectionately of his time at James Sharp & Co, “The last ten years have been some of the happiest in my business career. Being a part of such a strong traditional culture and working with such lovely people is something I will always treasure. I will miss all my colleagues greatly”.
Stuart will not be short of things to occupy him in retirement. He is a fitness freak – cycling, running, gym work and walking; he is also a keen golfer, game fisherman as well as a passionate rugby league, horse-racing, and football enthusiast. His wife, Dawn, still works at a senior level in the education sector, and his son Charlie is a qualified accountant with a Manchester corporate finance group. We are sure that all our clients will join with us in wishing him a long and happy retirement.
