Weekly Round Up
The FTSE 100 remains relatively unchanged this week, seeing a modest 0.6% increase. Initial rises on Monday and Tuesday emerged as tech stocks began to recover following the sell-offs in recent weeks, with the FTSE 100 reaching a peak level of 6,785 on Tuesday.
The rises coincided with the US markets as Wall Street gathered momentum through the recovery of tech stocks. Tesla’s shares saw a 15% rise through to Wednesday, whilst Apple and Facebook advanced 4%.
Whilst the FTSE 100 stagnated on Thursday, the recovery continued for US equities. The Dow Jones Industrial Average index hit an all-time high, touching the 32,600 level for the first time during Thursday’s trading session.
